Recharge with Savasana(Corpse Pose)!

To remain energetic, centered and focused after finishing your yoga practice, stay in Savasana(Corpse Pose) for at least five minutes at the end of every session, although 10 to 20 minutes would probably be better. If Savasana is skipped, the body does not have the time to assimilate the effects of asana practice. With a few modifications of Savasana, the effects of the pose can even be enhanced.

It's important to allow the body to relax deeply. First, make sure your body is arranged as evenly and comfortably as possible. Once you're comfortable, start at your toes and work your way up your body, consciously releasing each part in turn. Then begin to release your senses: Soften your tongue and let your eyes drop back in your eye sockets. Imagine your nose softening into your face and your inner ears relaxing.
Next, try to release all effort involved in breathing. It's hard to let go psychologically if you're laboring to breathe, even at a very subtle level. Don't suck or pull your breath into your body; instead, simply receive it, allowing it to flow in.

You can also use a blanket or firm pillows to elevate the chest and head in such a way that the chest (and thus your breath) opens even more.

Awaken Yourself with Kundalini Yoga!

Let's be clear. Kundalini Yoga and Kundalini energy are not the same thing.
Kundalini Yoga is a systematic approach to awakening the Kundalini energy within you through poses, meditation, breathing exercises and mantra.
Some students refuse to practice Kundalini Yoga because they are afraid of this "awakening."
However, the result of all yoga is to awaken. Does this mean you should be afraid of all yoga?
Let's step back and understand what we are awakening.
You are waking up an energy that already lives inside you. This is what we call self-realization: an awakening that expands your consciousness and leads you to live as your best self. This energy is what lies behind all creative genius. It gives you the capacity to become more compassionate, loving, selfless, creative and intuitive. You become the person you were meant to be.
There are a lot of stories/theories about the dangers of Kundalini awakening but inner awakening isn't going to hurt you. On the other hand, staying asleep as opposed to living consciously probably will. For almost everyone, this energy rises slowly and imperceptibly. You may not experience anything more than a heightened sense of awareness. Don't expect bells and whistles to go off. Remember the human mind is very susceptible to suggestion and if you want to create a bizarre experience for yourself you can likely do just that with your suggestive thinking.
There is inherent intelligence in the practice of yoga that prepares the bodies nerve channels to handle this release of energy inside you. The only danger lies in trying to force something to happen.
Don't be extreme in your practices. Don't try to force anything. When we do extreme practices, instead of experiencing this gradual waking up, you'll feel like you've had a bad drug trip.
How you experience this movement of energy simply depends on who you are and your state of mind-body health.  What you will most likely experience is a tremendous surge of creative energy, and a deep loving connection to yourself and others.
Sounds good to me!

dry body brush!

How to dry body brush. Good for lymph system, immune system and digestion.

Dry body brush. Good for lymph system, immune system and digestion.
Having a morning and evening routine is so powerful. The morning routine sets you up for a kick-ass day and sends you out into the world with an ‘I can take on anything’ attitude. And a night routine helps you fall asleep quicker and into a deeper sleep.

Dry body brushing can be done before or after your shower. I do it first thing in the morning before my shower. Do it both morning and night for maximum effect.

Since dry body brushing my skin has become smoother, more even and I have even got rid of cellulite.
Here are 13 reasons to start dry body brushing:
  1. Spreads energy through the chakras.
  2. Opens the pores to release stored toxins.
  3. Softens deposits of hard fat below the skin and prepares them for discharge.
  4. Allows excess fat, mucus, cellulite and toxins to actively discharge to the surface rather than to accumulate around deeper vital organs.
  5. Relieves stress through meditative action of rubbing the skin.
  6. Calms the mind.
  7. Promotes circulation.
  8. Activates the lymphatic system, especially when scrubbing underarms and groin.
  9. Easy massage and deep self-care.
  10. Can be a sacred moment in your day, especially if done with candlelight and a drop or two of essential oil, such as lavender.
  11. Creates a profound and loving relationship with the body, especially parts not often shown care, and especially for a person with body image problems.
  12. Reduces muscle tension.
  13. Reenergises in the morning and deeply relaxes you at night.

You can brush anywhere from 2 – 20 minutes depending how much time you have, obviously the longer the better. You can even turn it into a moving meditation if you like. Light some candles, dim the lights and start giving your body some love.
Important notes:
  • Do not brush over sunburn or inflamed or irritated skin.
  • Avoid breasts & genitalia area.
  • Wash brush before use to remove dead skin cells.
  • It has a deeper physical, mental and emotional effect if done at the sink and not in the shower.
  • Brush from your feet upward and toward your heart.
  • Brush from left to right side of your body.
